New live recording of Men at Work, from 1982, has two previously unreleased songs

A new live recording of Men at Work reached the music apps this week: “Live in Christchurch 1982” with 14 tracks recorded during a concert in New Zealand’s Christchurch Town Hall in 1982.

Among the set list, songs from the albums “Business As Usual” (“I Can See It In Your Eyes”, “Touching The Untouchables”, “Down By The Sea”, “Down Under”, “Helpless Automaton”, “Underground”, “Who Can It Be Now?” and “Be Good Johnny”), “Cargo” (“Overkill” and “It’s A Mistake”), the (almost) instrumental b-side “Till The Money Runs Out” and “Mr. Entertainer”, that they used to play at the early shows, present in previous live bootlegs. Two previously unreleased songs are presented at this release: “Don’t Preach To Me” and “I Changed My Mind”.

The Christchurch show, performed in front of 2500 fans and broadcast live on New Zealand radio, was recorded by long time friend and front-of-house operator Mark Woods.

The ARCA Desk Tape Series is an initiative of the Australian Road Crew Association (ARCA), a not for profit organisation dedicated to the welfare of live production crew across Australia. Each release acknowledges just how important roadies have been to making our live performance industry a stand out success. They offer recognition to the engineers who documented this wealth of genuine Australian music history. All profits from The Desk Tape Series releases are split 20% to ARCA and 80% to the Support Act Roadies fund.
